Hitting Reset

“Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!”

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

From right now on, you can do whatever you want to do with your life.

You can’t change the past. You can’t rewind time. But from this moment on, you can do whatever you want with the information you now have.

If that doesn’t make you feel hopeful for the future, not much will.

For the next month, six months or a year, look at life like one grand adventure. What have you always wanted to do? What museums, plays, landmarks, natural sites have you always wanted to visit, but haven’t due to lack of time or money?

Figure out how to make it happen. Pretend that after a year, you won’t be wherever you are right now. Hit reset. From this point until a year from now, everything is brand new. Everything is an adventure.

Try a new food. Go to a new store. Watch new movies. Meet new people.

‘Why?’ you might ask.

Because life is an adventure.

“Live! Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!” Auntie Mame had a point.
